Stone Age trip to Brackenhurst

We had the most wonderful trip to Brackenhurst to learn about the Stone Age.

We got first - hand experience of what humans endured when living outside with ice and snow - as there was much of it all around, but this didn't stop many exciting and engaging activities that we got to enjoy. We painted stone age drawings on the wall, we made models out of sticks, built Stonehenge with bricks and outside we drilled and sawed to make our own piece of Stone Age jewellery. We also made Stone Age clay pots and got to hold and learn about lots of Stone Age artefacts.

At the end of the day, we were taken around Brackenhurst and looked at the animals in particular the horses (who were around during the Stone Age), it was wonderful to learn about different animals and discuss which ones we thought had relatives that roamed the land during Stone Age times.
