Maple had a wonderful trip to a local farm that was kindly led by a parent volunteer (who is the farmer, thank you!). This trip was a perfect link to our science topic which is 'plants and animals'. We learnt all about how crops grow from seed to shoots and roots and how crops are harvested. We had a wonderful insight into how beef cows are reared and cared for (with mums in tow). We got to walk around the farm, looking at different crops and learning all about the importance of hedgerows and how they support the farm. We were very lucky that we got to sit in a tractor and have a good beep of the horn!
